Privacy policy

Last updated 23 October 2026

The short version. We collect what Fridgeii needs to plan your household's dinners, and nothing for advertising. We never sell your data. Your household's plans and recipes are visible only to the people in your household. You can export or delete everything from the app at any time.

1. Who we are

Fridgeii is a dinner-planning app and fridge screen for UK households. The data controller is [Fridgeii Ltd, company number and registered address: to be added once registered]. Contact us about anything on this page at [email protected].

2. What we collect

WhatDetails
Your accountYour email address and password. The password is stored only as a secure hash; we can never see it.
Your householdThe household's name, its invite code, and who has joined it.
The people you addThe names you type in (first names are enough), whether each person is an adult or a child (for portion sizes), and their allergies, if you add any.
Your planningYour meal plans, recipes, shopping lists, freezer and leftovers, favourites, ratings and foods you avoid.
AI requestsWhen you use an AI feature (ideas, Plan my week, writing or importing a recipe), the text, link or photo you give it, plus the household details it needs to answer well, such as allergies, foods you avoid and portion sizes.
Fridge screensFor a Fridgeii Refit or Screen: an identifier for the device, which household it is paired to, its power settings and when it was last seen. For a Refit we also record the tablet's model, serial number and condition when it arrives.
Error reportsIf the app hits a problem it sends us the error message, the screen it was on and the browser type. Email addresses and web links are removed before it is sent.
WaitlistIf you join the Refit or Screen waitlist on our website: your email address and which option you picked.
Emails to usWhatever you choose to tell us when you email us.
Website visitsAnonymous page-view counts from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not build a profile of you.

We don't collect your location, contacts or payment card details. When paid plans open, payments will be handled by Stripe or Google Play, who will collect the card details, not us.

3. Allergies are health information

Allergy details count as health data under UK data protection law. We only store them once you have agreed to it on the allergy screen in the app, and we use them only to flag and hide recipes and to keep AI suggestions free of those allergens. You can remove them at any time, which also withdraws your agreement. Allergy flags are a guide, not a guarantee: see our terms.

4. Children

Fridgeii accounts are for adults (18 and over). Parents can add their children to the household, usually just a first name, whether they need a child's portion, and any allergies. We use this only to plan your household's meals.

5. Why we use your data (our lawful bases)

6. Who helps us run Fridgeii

We use a small number of trusted providers who process data only on our instructions:

ProviderWhat forWhere
SupabaseDatabase and sign-in: your account, household and planning dataEU (Paris)
CloudflareHosting the app and website, website visit counts, forwarding email to our inboxGlobal network
AnthropicThe AI features (Claude). Only the content of each AI request is sentUnited States
ResendSending account emails, such as password resetsEU (Ireland)

Where data leaves the UK, it is protected by the UK's approved safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or an adequacy decision. People you invite to your household can see that household's data. We don't share your data with anyone else unless the law requires it.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete your account, we remove you from every household, and a household with nobody left in it is deleted along with its plans and recipes. Our database backups are overwritten on a rolling basis, so deleted data disappears from them within a few weeks. Waitlist emails are deleted once the Refit and Screen launch, or straight away if you ask.

8. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent. Most of this is built into the app:

For anything else, email [email protected] and we will reply within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

9. Cookies and storage on your device

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. The app stores your sign-in, and a copy of your household's plan so it opens quickly and works with a poor signal, in your browser's own storage on your device. Signing out clears it. Our website's visitor counts use no cookies.

10. Fridgeii Refit tablets

When you send us a tablet to refit, we wipe it completely before setting it up. We don't look at, copy or keep anything that was on it. Please back up anything you want to keep and sign out of your Google or Apple account before you post it.

11. Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Each household's data is separated in the database so only its members can reach it, and our AI key and other secrets never leave our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but if something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you and the ICO as the law requires.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
